Rare birds

One day last week [I forgot what day all I know is I didn't go fishing that day] Mike and I sighted an indigo bunting [a rare south American bird] in our back yard an' showed it to my Mom who then packed every one into the car an' headed for Dolphin island were buntings and tanagers are most often seen. When we got there we saw two flocks of tanagers and one of Indigo buntings, We really wanted to see a painted bunting but did not get to.

Snapping turtles

In the past week and a half I have have had two brushes with snappers. The first time I was bass fishing at our creek with live baby brim and saw a good size snapper head coming out of an under water hole and tried to catch him but he stole my brim an' got away. The second time [which was today ] I had 7ounce brim on a gill string that I then put in the water, five minuets later Mike and Conner went an' pulled on the string it didn't budge then they pulled really hard an' pulled the fish out of the turtles mouth and then put the fish back in the hole [we were trying to pull the turtles head out of the water then whack it with a stick] the turtle took it again and we pulled an' lost it again this went on for ten minuets an ' we got the head out of the water twice but forgot the stick so in the end it took the brim of the string and we have not seen him again. Some peoples dogs across the street found one in there back yard and we got some pics of that which i will put on later. This last time happen about a month after the others.

Snakes!

Warning really did happen and I almost got bit! Today I went fishing at the creek with my brother
to friends of mine my Dad and my older sister Megan. When we got to we all started to spread out to fish, my friend Travis and I went almost a half a mile farther down the creek then any body else and were just about start walking into some long grass when we almost stepped on a coiled water moccasin! That was the second snake I had seen that but the first one had been a harm less foot long Tiger snake that had just slipped into the water when we got near, far cry from a three and a half foot long water moccasin that just stared at us and didn't move right! At first we thought it was just staring at us then we thought it was dead so Travis poked it with a fishing pole to make sure and that's where we started to get scared that snake started to turn its self around until it's head was only a foot or so away from our feet and then it started to hiss, We thought it was going to attack us but Travis poked it again with the fishing pole and started moving slowly into the water but it was not going under the water it just stared at to go just a little bit under the water then I threw a chunk of wood in to the water into deeper water and went under a rock and we did not see any more.

Fishing

A few days ago my little brother and I went fishing at my
grandfather's house and caught a lot of fish, first in the morning
I caught two big brim and Michael caught a little one, then around lunch time
I caught a small mouth bass that we thought was about a pound and half.
later that day Michael caught a small mouth bass about the same size
and five minuets later I landed a pound and a half cat fish!

Arkansas razorbacks are bacon for Bama.

Alabama whipped pig yesterday beating the Arkansas Razorbacks 49 to 14 that's what I call Arkansas bacon by the way I think Arkansas should change the name of there team to the Bacon backs. Now Alabama is #8 where Auburn dropped to #15 because of there loss to #5 LSU. Roll Tide Roll!
