Snapping turtles

In the past week and a half I have have had two brushes with snappers. The first time I was bass fishing at our creek with live baby brim and saw a good size snapper head coming out of an under water hole and tried to catch him but he stole my brim an' got away. The second time [which was today ] I had 7ounce brim on a gill string that I then put in the water, five minuets later Mike and Conner went an' pulled on the string it didn't budge then they pulled really hard an' pulled the fish out of the turtles mouth and then put the fish back in the hole [we were trying to pull the turtles head out of the water then whack it with a stick] the turtle took it again and we pulled an' lost it again this went on for ten minuets an ' we got the head out of the water twice but forgot the stick so in the end it took the brim of the string and we have not seen him again. Some peoples dogs across the street found one in there back yard and we got some pics of that which i will put on later. This last time happen about a month after the others.
